  • Answers to this question can vary from improving criminal prosecutions of international war crimes, to including gender perspectives in the Security Council, to the necessity of tackling economic insecurity, sexism, racism or religious extremism to combat war, just to name a few examples of what your essay could look like. Most importantly, we want to hear your unique view on peacemaking.
  • We are taking in essays from all graduate, undergraduate or Ph.D students currently enrolled in an academic institution, as well as any students currently enrolled in secondary education (high school).
  • The Judging Committee is made up of three members of the WILPF Academic Network, Cynthia Enloe, Laurie Cohen and Claire Duncanson, coordinated by Barbara Trojanowska. It’s therefore also a great way to get your work read by some of the most influential academics in the field!
  • Please use the submission form to submit your essay. Submissions made by email or any other format will not be considered.
  • Please submit your essay in Word format, stick to a word count of between 2000 and 5000 words.
